Best State Parks in Nevada

Nevada features some of the best parks, trails, and outdoor adventures in the country. Nevada state parks comprises protected areas managed by the U.S. state of Nevada, which include state parks, state historic sites, and state recreation areas. There are over 20 state park units in Nevada. Since there are so many great places to visit, your LV Plug team curated this list of the best ones. If you're looking for a map to view the parks, I created this map on Google: Best of Nevada's State Parks to make things easy for you. All I ask is that, you give it a follow on Google or send me a message saying thank you!

Lake Tahoe

"Lake Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in North America. The Lake Tahoe - Nevada State Park is on the northeast shores of Lake Tahoe. The park covers over 14,000 acres. This park was established in 1958."

Death Valley National Park

Death Valley National Park is massive. The park is over 3 million acres of desert and mountains. When it's not a zillion degrees outside, the park is great for hiking, camping, and biking. If you're trying to determine when to visit, winter and spring are best for hiking. The park is busy even in midsummer, when the extreme heat is a attraction for some visitors

Elephant Rock

Elephant Rock is one of the many breathtaking sights to see in the Valley of Fire State Park. This location has plenty of free parking. They also have a restroom available for visitors. I can't confirm if the restroom is still open due to the pandemic but it was open when I was there. I would avoid visiting this area during the summer. There is a reason it's called Valley of Fire. If you use your America the Beautiful Pass you should have no problem visiting Elephant Rock.

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area

Red Rock Canyon is the closest state park on this list to Las Vegas. It's also one of the most beautiful in my opinion. This is a must see when you visit Las Vegas. Red Rock has an abundance of trails for biking or hiking. Photo opportunities to get that perfect selfie or sunset and more. Don't skip this.

Conclusion

Nevada features some of the best parks and outdoor adventures in the country (when it's not 100+ degrees outside). Nevada is an outdoors men's dream. There is so much to do and so much to see. It's almost as if you'll never run out of things to do here. Interested in more hiking or biking adventures? Check out the LV Plug's review of Wells Trailhead.
