As you have probably already heard, Las Vegas received some terrible news on 7/28/2020. The worlds largest electronic show, Consumer Electronics Show (CES), will move to an all-digital and all-online trade show and exhibition in 2021.
On Tuesday morning, the Consumer Technology Association sent an email to attendees and stated that the trade show scheduled in Las Vegas for January 6th through the 9th of 2021, would be an all-digital experience and “connecting exhibitors, customers, though leaders and media from around the world.”
This is going to be a huge blow to our city and economy. Last year's CES convention drew more than 170,000 attendees and more than 4,400 exhibiting companies.
Unfortunately, this won't be the last time we will have to deal with bad news like this when it comes to trade shows and conferences cancelling their 2021 plans. I'm long Las Vegas and believe our city will recover, but news like this is a blow to a major industry in this study.
I will try to keep this page updated moving forward.
